The exhibition “I Never Sleep Because Sleep is the Cousin of Death” explores a bed as an object and the topic of sleep.

The works deal with the bed as a place where life begins, rests and ends. It can be understood as a canvas for journaling the everyday. It is a threshold where time and physicality morph into unconsciousness, and the body is paralysed in its mould. In the void of dreams, the uncanny and the eerie aspects of our slumber are revealed. The comfort of the bed can easily become a personal cage, which is sometimes hard to escape. However, it can also be an intimate hideaway, a way to refuge from the demands of society. Never forget – sleep, baby, sleep.
