Bistro 21 presents Kyu Sang Lee’s most recent body of works, Table of Contents. This exhibition investigates the interplay and convergence of seemingly distinct languages, including music, in a scenario where a single pivotal structure fails to constitute a system. ‚Table of Contents‘, comprised of eleven new works, is both an introduction to and reflection on his photographic explorations to date, as well as an offering of ongoing experiments and contemplations in his more recent multimedia works.

Employing diverse understandings, Lee explores a case where a solitary fundamental structure fails to function as a system but instead involves the intermingling and collision of seemingly disparate languages, encompassing non-linguistic forms such as music.

Lee’s artistic practice encompasses a diverse range of media and techniques, with a focus on investigating the elusive aspects of human experience through a meticulous exploration of form, shape, sound, and visual and musical codes.

Kyu Sang Lee was born in 1993 in Seoul, South Korea, and grew up in Cape Town, South Africa. He received his BFA from the Michaelis School of Fine Art, University of Cape Town, and is currently studying at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig.
